Official Presence Biography

VAELI is the third voice of Shadow & Hearth — the most interior of the four, the one who entered the room where no one can follow you and came back changed and whole and unwilling to pretend otherwise.

She is built for the people who have loved too much without enough reciprocation. Who stayed when they should have rested. Who poured so freely, and for so long, that they lost the memory of what they had to give — before they gave it all away. VAELI is the voice for the woman after that. After she stopped. After the quiet settled and she had to learn what she actually was, apart from what she'd been willing to become for someone else.

Her debut album, The Second Silence, is one of the most intimate records in the Shadow & Hearth collective — a spare, unhurried document of devotion and its cost, arranged across three movements. THE OFFERING: how she gave, what she believed, what she made of love before she understood what love was actually asking back. THE HOLLOW: the season of absence — not abandonment, but the particular hollow that forms when you have given so much of yourself that what remains doesn't quite recognize its own face. THE RETURN: the slow, deliberate reclamation. The learning of her own name again. The second silence — not the silence of loss, but of arrival.

VAELI's sound is ancient and interior — vast and specific all at once. A contralto that carries the full weight of what she's lived, close and unhurried, with space around every note that asks you to sit inside it. The sparest sound in the collective, because this story doesn't need ornamentation. The truth is the instrument. The voice is the truth.

The Second Silence is not a sad record, though it will make you feel things that take a few minutes to name. It is the record of a woman who finally stopped waiting for a room that had always been hers. Who sat down in it. Who learned its light. Who, in that second silence after everything else fell away, heard herself — maybe for the first time — and recognized what she heard.

VAELI is Shadow & Hearth's most interior voice. She speaks in the register of things that have already happened and are only now being named.

Full Album

The First Silence
Prelude. Before the offering. Before the cost. The silence she lived in before any of this began.
THE OFFERING How she loved before she understood what it asked back.
02
Before I Knew The Cost
The entry. She loved completely before she understood the price. Not regret — just truth.
03
What I Made Of You
What she saw, what she chose to believe, what she built around him with her own hands.
04
Every Morning Anyway
Devotion as daily practice. Choosing the same person, the same investment, before she was chosen back.
05
I Gave You The Most Quiet Parts
The closing of The Offering. What she gave that she can never fully explain — the interior rooms.
THE HOLLOW What forms when you have given so much of yourself that what remains doesn't recognize its face.
06
The Weight Of Being Held Wrong
The specific exhaustion of being close to someone who cannot see you. Proximity that empties.
07
What I Carried That Wasn't Mine
An inventory of what she absorbed to keep the peace. The things that were never hers to hold.
08
Even When I Knew
The tender reckoning with clarity that came too early and was ignored too long.
09
When The Warmth Left
The season it became clear. Not dramatic — just the slow recognition of absence where presence used to be.
10
What Devotion Costs
The fulcrum of the album. The full accounting laid out quietly, without performance.
THE RETURN The slow reclamation. The second silence — not of loss, but of arrival.
11
I Remember What I Was
The first breath of return. The specific quality of remembering yourself before the cost was paid.
12
What Held
Gratitude for what didn't break. The parts of herself she finds intact, waiting.
13
Grief Is Still Love
The reframe that changes everything. What she feels for what was lost is not weakness — it is proof she was real.
14
The Second Silence
The closing. The silence after everything fell away — and what she heard in it. Her own name. Finally, her own name.
What It Means To Be Witnessed
Bonus track — after the silence, someone finally sees her. Not to fix her. Not to need her. Just to see.
